#ACTLOCAL Documentary now LIVE
#actlocal is a campaign asking people to act on the importance of supporting local and independent businesses. We began this campaign in Bristol, to showcase a city which is leading by example. Already widely known for its support of independents and shopping locally, Bristol offers a great starting ground.
We launched a call out online and in print around the city. To start the campaign we offered up to 20 local businesses a chance to be part of our #actlocal documentary. It will showcase Bristol’s best loved and undiscovered independents & small businesses, promoting what they do best. We will then share this with the world, hoping to reach 1000’s of people over the country.
Our aim is to change people’s perceptions about where they shop and which businesses they support. We want to eventually illustrate how important it is to #actlocal all over the UK.
So far the campaign has been very well received. People have said it has made them think about the way they spend there money, and has given them an insight into businesses around the city they wouldn’t have otherwise known about.
We encourage everyone to support local businesses and we’ll also be starting a Kickstarter soon so we can eventually, take the #actlocal campaign across the UK.
