Kings Grooming
Kings is a grooming brand with a mission: ‘to empower men to live healthier and happier lives’. This purpose drives every action Kings takes as a company – from the ethical manufacturing of its aftershaves, creams and face washes to the decision to invest 20% of all profits into male mental health and youth mentoring projects.
What did they need?
When founder Blue O’Connor approached us, Kings existed only as an inspired concept in a business plan. To make his social enterprise a reality, Blue needed a full package of brand-building services, product packaging design and a website. Crucially, he also needed us to create and activate a crowdfunding campaign to raise the capital to allow Kings to launch.
How did we respond?
We translated Blue’s vision into a living, breathing brand with:
- A Brand Blueprint to help navigate the challenge of blending Kings’ commercial message with two distinct social and ethical ones
- A striking visual identity – including logo, packaging and website
- A Brand Story that brings Kings’ core messages alive through a fun yet emotive narrative
We then orchestrated a successful Indiegogo campaign, first laying out a strategy; next creating a crowdfunding video and written pitch; and finally providing expert PR support to secure all the publicity Kings deserved.
Impact
The crowdfunder successfully raised its £10,000 target, and Kings is now a fully fledged enterprise.
“I’ve been able to learn a lot from the whole process in terms of brand story, brand blueprint, brand values, marketing, PR, social media, copyright, crowdfunding, videography and web design. There was a high element of trust and collaboration throughout our time working together and there still is. As a solo entrepreneur, I really appreciated this. I have recommended Konichiwa to a number of people and will continue to do so based on their clear communication, high standard of work and quality outcomes. I will definitely be using Konichiwa for future work as well. Kings wouldn’t be in such a promising position today if it wasn’t for Ursula and the team. I’m very grateful to have stumbled across them and worked with them.”
